Plymouth, famous for true community spirit, and its citizens
place a high premium on education. Construction
of a new and outstanding elementary
facility in 1990 allowed for expansion of the existing regional
high school in Plymouth, which regularly produces National Merit Scholars,
turns out championship athletic teams as a matter of course, and has earned New
England Drama festival awards year after year. The school system has a special
education program which attracts much praise, is fully accredited and allows for
advanced placement courses through Plymouth State University of the University
System of New Hampshire. The high school is on the Internet, and in addition to
its own library and that of the town, can offer its students use of the college
library, among the state's finest, with over 300,000 volumes and over 500,000
items on microfiche.
