Education

The Plymouth region, famous for true community spirit, place a high premium on education.

Construction of a new and outstanding Plymouth Elementary School in 1990  facility allowed for expansion of the existing Plymouth Regional High School , which regularly produces National Merit Scholars, turns out championship athletic teams as a matter of course, and has earned New England Drama festival awards year after year. The school system has a special education program which attracts much praise, is fully accredited and allows for advanced placement courses through Plymouth State University of the University System of New Hampshire. The high school is on the Internet, and in addition to its own library and that of the town, can offer its students use of the college library, among the state's finest, with over 300,000 volumes and over 500,000 items on microfiche.

Plymouth State University  offers over 80 undergraduate majors, two-year associate programs and Master's degrees in business and education.Plymouth State University

Non-credit courses through the Center for Continuing Education are geared to the general public.

Lamson library, open to the public, affords borrowing privileges to Plymouth residents.

Three prominent, private, secondary schools are nearby: Holderness, New Hampton and Tilton. Each of these fine boarding schools accepts a significant number of day students. In addition, the area offers a number of private schooling opportunities.
