Hunting
Spring Turkey hunting season runs from May 3rd through May 31st.
Of the ten counties in New Hampshire, Grafton County was the top county for harvesting
Jakes, Toms and Bearded Hens, with 594.
The statewide turkey population as of August 2002 was estimated to be 23,000
wild turkeys. The good news is the population continues to expand and increase
in both the central and northern portions of the state. For complete licensing
and hunting regulations, check the Fish and Game website at : www.wildlife.state.nh.us.
You can even buy your license on-line.
For hunters of white-tail deer, moose, bear and upland game, the Plymouth/Grafton
County area offers miles of opportunities. Some of the best hunting in the state
can be found around these parts.
