It Will Be Auction Time Soon!
The 16th Annual Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Internet Auction is just around the corner
Here are some of the highlights of this unique community event:
- The Internet "e-Bay" style auction will be held for two weeks, officially beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 and closing on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
- This event continues to be one of the area's greatest promotional opportunities for your business or organization and a great example of community involvement.
In addition to the donated items, the success of the auction is dependent on sponsors. While the auction is a fundraiser, production costs are incurred. Sponsorships help offset the cost of the auction and enables the Chamber to allocate funds raised toward other events, publications, seminars and training programs that benefit the community year-round. For more information on sponsorships, contact the Chamber.
Contact the Chamber office at 536-1001 for more information on how you and your business can participate. We look forward to your continued support of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce. Thank you,
How to make the most of your Auction participation
How it works
Each item donated is assigned an item number and listed with its value and the name of the donor in the online Auction Directory (provided the deadline is met). Photos of items will also be included in the online guide. Your business receives the promotion as the donor of the item.
Donate an item or service from your business. It can be an actual item or a gift certificate. Your business name gets the promotion as the donor of the item. If you donated an item in the past and cannot remember what you gave, contact the Chamber to find out what that donation was.
Important things to remember when choosing your item for donation:
- Gift items, gift certificates, or "hot" new toys or novelty items sell best.
- Use this opportunity to plant a seed in the minds of consumers. Items you donate can generate additional sales for your business. Remember, lots of people are bidding, but there is only one winner. Those who don't win the item in the auction may go out and purchase it directly at your business following the auction.
- Choose something that will represent your business well and and be a good selling item at the auction. (Remember - if it isn't selling off your shelf, it probably will not sell at the auction either.)
We can create a gift certificate for your business donation if you need one. Just give us the details.
If you have any questions about the auction or how it works, call the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce at 536-1001.
Thank you for your consideration and your support.
